Omaha Poker: Rules for learning to play

poker-omaha

Discover and learn the rules of Omaha poker, a variation of poker played very across the planet.

In the same way as Texas Hold'em, players get the best combination of hole cards and community cards visible in the center of the table. The main difference with Texas Hold'em is therefore in the number of private cards dealt: four in Omaha Poker instead of two in Texas Hold'em.

What happens during a poker game Omaha?

Early in the game of Omaha poker, the first player left of the dealer asks the "small blind", which is half the minimum bet the table. The next player (turn clockwise to clockwise) raises the "big blind", which is the minimum bet. This will start the auction.

The dealer then deals four cards face down to each player around the table. The first player who filed after the big blind starts the betting round: he can either call (put the same amount on the table) or pass (give up) or raise (put an upper set). We continue the turn in the direction of clockwise, until all those who have not passed have raised the same amount on the table (until they have all followed).

Once the betting is complete, the dealer places three cards face up on the table, called the "flop". Players then bet again, turning in the direction of clockwise. Equalized after betting, the dealer asks a fourth card, called "turning point". We then rebuilt a round of betting. Finally, the dealer put the last card up in the center of the table, called "river".

Players can then make a final round of betting. Then everyone returns his four cards, and it is he who has the best combination wins the pot. This combination must be carried out with two personal cards and three community cards.

If multiple players have equivalent combinations, they share the winnings. And if a player finds himself alone in the game because everyone else is "past" is of course the one who wins the pot.

In Omaha, the only difference with Texas Hold'em is here, players have nine cards instead of seven to form a combination.
